watch out.

This guy's in town!  (along with his mother - Teenie).  Here are Kurtis and Ben the Sunday we got back from Hazards.

Clara and Ben have had great fun bothering playing together.

Here is Clara's new trick - sitting up like a champ!

We tried for a cute pic with Clara, Ben, Emmy and I.  This is what we got!  Yikes!
 Double yikes!
We ate a fine dinner together.  Ben likes tractors.  He likes tractors a lot!  Even more than his food at times!
Don't know why he's crying - I just thought it was a great pic!  He's such a happy kid...it is rare to see him cry!
 Oma settled him right down.
Be ready for more posts.  We've been up to lots around here!

camping at hazards.

Last weekend we went camping at Hazard Lake with three other families.  It was a blast...Hazards always is!  We had a ball relaxing in the mountains.  Here are some pics:

Our family at the edge of the lake.

Clara's first time in the backpack.  She was so content!

This was a spur of the moment photo shoot!  We were getting ready to go for a drive up above the lakes, and Clara was being hilarious, so I snapped some shots.

Look at that dirty camping chin!

Here we are WAY up high.  We were able to look down on Hazard Lake, Big Hazard Lake, and Upper Hazard Lake.
 Snapped some wildflower pics!

This tree may not look significant, but right behind it about a second earlier was a BEAR!  I looked out as we were driving on the mountain top and saw a young bear loping through the grass.  It was quite a sight!  He didn't stick around for too long, and neither did we!  We didn't want to run into Mama bear.
We tried to shoot some ground squirrels with the GAMO, but didn't have any luck.
Here is Clara with her friend Knox in the pack and play.  Knox is 2 months older than Clara.
She was so into watching him move.  He's super quick!

He gave her a little nudge and her wobbly sitting self toppled over.  I thought she might get upset, but she was having a blast - here's the proof!

Jess and I with the babes.

 Enjoying the campfire.

 The night sky.

It was another fantastic Hazards trip!  Let's all do it again next year!

baby legs.

Here are her legs in her exersaucer.
 I love these gams!
And here those leggies are in her big girl high chair!

boo boo lip.

Uncle Brian came home from the east coast so, of course, we had to have a bbq to celebrate his return.  He hadn't seen Clara since June, and when he went to hold her outside, this is what happened...

little stinker!!!  We had a long talk about how this behavior isn't acceptable, especially when it's your UNCLE you're mistreatin'!  Like usual, her Daddy made her feel better.
But just because she was feeling better with her Dad doesn't mean she was nice to Uncle Brian.  She continued to give him the stink eye for some time!
 Staredown!
We don't know if it was the boo boo lip, the stink eye, or the beautiful evening breeze that did it, but before any of us knew it, Clara was OUT!
What a night!

big girl in a high chair.

This is Clara in the high chair I sat in 29 years ago.  It is at Oma's house for the grandbabes.  On Saturday, Clara tried avocado for the first time.  She loved it.  Kurtis figured out on Sunday that it goes down a little easier when you add a little water.  So now she eats rice cereal or avocado at night.  She's getting SOOO big!

mohawk

Kurtis gives Clara her baths quite frequently.  They both have a ball during bath time.  The other night, Kurtis gave Clara her bath and she came downstairs in her jammies with her hair parted down the opposite side that I usually part it on.  I noticed, but didn't think much of it...that is, until I woke up the next morning.  Clara was wide eyed in her crib with a precious little mohawk sticking straight up!  I loved it!  So I left it all day!

We've been enjoying Oma and Opa's pool on these 100 degree days, so I snapped some pics of Clara by the pool with her mohawk.  Enjoy!
