henry's fork: part 4 - what the guys were up to.

The entire time we girls (and babes) were out enjoying the scenery, the guys were taking goofy pictures like these:

Psych!  They were fishing on the Henry's Fork, of course!

They brought bikes and rode in to a more remote area of the river and had major success fishing trout!

Kurtis would say they were fishing catching Henry's Fork gaggers!

One day, they watched an Osprey fish out of the same hole they were in.
 They even had some luck!

But did we doubt them?

henry's fork: part 3 - Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

Saturday we girls (and babies) headed to Jackson.  Sadly, we didn't get too many pictures.  We shopped around, lunched, shopped some more, and enjoyed the gorgeous drive.  Well, I should say most of us enjoyed the drive.  Oma got a little white knuckled on the way down the 10% grade into Jackson, but we all survived and had a ball!
The antler arches and antler decor in the local shops gave my mom and I an itch to create some antler wreaths for our houses.  Kurtis shed hunts enough that I think he'd be able to collect enough antlers to do these projects for us in the near future!
Before jumping in the car to head back to the cabin, the babies needed a change.  No place better than the lawn outside the episcopal church, right?

My only regret from our time in Jackson was NOT seeing Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds while we were wandering around.  They happened to be in Jackson at the same time!

henry's fork: part 2 - yellowstone national park.

We girls and the babies spent Friday in Yellowstone.  We saw geysers.
We spent time at Old Faithful lodge and enjoyed a picnic lunch.

We watched Old Faithful do her thing!  Afterward, Emily said she really wasn't that impressed - especially because it is built up so much!

We saw bison...

 and a nice 4 x 4 buck...
 and lots more bison...
and a bison really close to our car...   We also saw elk, my mom thinks she saw a bear, and I think I saw some bald eagles by the river.  Is this turning into a fish story???
These are the Teton Mountains.   Aren't they spectacular?
After driving through the park, we stopped in the town of West Yellowstone, Montana.  We bought everyone a Yellowstone shirt, which was hilarious, and then we grabbed some delish ice cream before heading back to the cabin.  You shoulda seen Clara.  Her Oma taught her to love ice cream and now she's an addict.  I guess she is my daughter!

The last part of the trip was Mom and Teenie (mainly Mom) struggling to throw the trash away in the bear proof trash cans.  Classic!
