Clara's 2nd Birthday Party

We celebrated Clara's 2nd birthday with a party on Sunday, February 24.  We had both sides of the family over to our house to celebrate.  It was a pretty simple party.  We enjoyed some food, cake and ice cream (which Clara talked about for days with excitement...but when it was in front of her, she didn't care too much about), and a few presents.  What she loved most was spending the evening with her family.  We talked about her birthday for a couple of weeks leading up to it, and she was pretty excited about it.  "Happy Birthday" is one of her favorite songs to sing.  And the day she turned two, we woke her up and sang to her, and told her she was two.  She simply replied, "No, Clara 1".  Change always takes some getting used to, right?

Here are Clara and Billy Boy
Clara and Ben (in pictures they look like they play so well together, don't they?)
That's not quite the case in reality!
Look at how big Will is getting!

 Party hat time!
 Clara hated the party hat!!!
 Some sweet treats

Uncle Brian knows just the right sounds to make when playing with wheeled toys!

Clara and Ben ate at the kiddie table
Clara loved the independence...we usually have her strapped in to a chair.
Toward the end of the night, Auntie Teenie picked Clara up, and realized her tights were halfway down her legs.  Oops!  Photo op!
 They were sad about it!
Ben was such a good helper during present opening time!
 Pop was festive, of course!
Daddy gave Clara her first fishing pole (Barbie was all they had, so it will work!)  She loves it!  He couldn't have thought of a better gift.  And we're certain it will get lots of use this summer on the boat!

 She was a little excited!

 Look at her face!

I was terrible at getting pictures of everyone at the party.  Bummer.  But Clara had a great party!  She didn't nap during the day (which never happens) but she remained in great spirits for the entire party.  She loves being surrounded by fun energy and excitement.  Happy 2nd Birthday, sweet Clara!  We love you!
