We caravanned to Minnesota for my cousin Andrew and his new wife Mikaela's wedding. The drive went shockingly well with three small ones! We were so pleased, but ready to be out of the car after 20 hours!
A shot of a road called Primrose Road in Montana along the drive. So lovely.
We stayed with my Dad's sister Ann and her husband Jim and daughter Kate at their home on Ottertail Lake. It was incredible! The kids played in the water and caught clams and minnows (which Clara called minerals). Lake life is mighty nice!
Fisherman Will was able to fish straight off the dock!
Our first day at the lake was a "banner day" according to the locals! The wind was calm and the temp was perfect! So we zipped across the lake to a restaurant called Zorbaz for lunch. Cousin Kate was working, so it was fun to see her in action! We ate pizza on the back deck and the kids had a ball playing arcade games.
Later that day, Clara was plum tired! She passed out in her suit!
The wedding was Saturday, June 13. The kids had a blast spending time with the extended family, and the Hegland kids made sure they had a blast! I don't know if we really saw the three littles that night! Those Hegland kids are THE BEST playmates for Ben, Will, and Clara!
Here are my dad, his 4 siblings, and his mom. L-R: Dawn, Dad, Ardy (Grandma Waldon), Peter, Ann, and Mary
Here's the entire Waldon clan.
And our little branch of the family.
The 'rents!
And Grandma and her kids.
We drank coffee on the dock each morning, and wine on the dock each night! I could really get used to that life!
We left early Sunday morning to go to South Dakota. It was a bummer to only be able to spend a couple days at the lake, but the time we did spend there was quite relaxing.
THANK YOU Auntie Ann, Jim, and Kate for your hospitality and for allowing us to "bring the crazy". It was an absolute treat to stay with you! And thanks to the rest of the Waldon's for treating us to meals and fun while we were in MN. It was great to see you all!
